NAT4SHA
Brisbane | Positions Takeover
Nothing says 'we're in this together' like frantically trying to ID a tech-house banger while someone's phone flashlight illuminates the DJ booth at a Brisbane Positions Takeover. NAT4SHA’s live set is for those of us who appreciate a bit of chaos in our four-to-the-floor. The energy is peak-time, sticky-floored club nonsense, with lights that probably strobe just enough to induce mild concern. Technically, this is a rollercoaster of a tech house tracklist, averaging 151.7 BPM but swinging wildly from 133 to 176, all held together by the dominant 12A key.
The low-end energy at 0.6466 is the engine room, driving a relentless bounce, while the mids at 0.275 handle the funk and the occasional high-frequency spike at 0.0775 serves as a wake-up call. The mixing is punchy and direct, built for maximum impact rather than subtlety. Crate digging highlights: Tom Santa’s “I Like How U Do It” is a certified floor-filler, but the real surprise is the BK Remix of “Black Is Black” by Allnighters & BK—a dark, driving weapon. DJ Gerard’s “Lost In Mind” offers a deeper, hypnotic interlude, while Hassan Abulsoóud’s “Shik Shak Shok” is a genius left-field curveball.
The journey kicks off with the buoyant “Little Bird” by Audiorush & Inlaw Project, peaks with the jersey-club antics of OfficialDirtyDan’s “Wassup,” and closes on the absurd, big-room energy of Bountyhunter, Dimitri Vegas & Junkie Kid’s “Woops” remix. A 24-track ride that doesn’t take itself too seriously, and neither should we.
