What We Collect
Client-Side Tools (most tools)
Tools like BPM Finder, Key Finder, Metronome, Tap BPM, and others run entirely on your device. Your audio files are never uploaded to our servers. All processing happens locally using your device's CPU or GPU. We cannot see, access, or store your audio files.
Cloud Assist Tools
Some tools (Vocal Remover, Auto-Master, Pitch Shifter, Audio-to-MIDI, Song Analyzer, Mashup Maker) offer optional cloud processing for faster results. When you use Cloud Assist:
- Your audio is uploaded to our processing servers
- Files are processed and the result is returned to you
- Uploaded files and results are automatically deleted after processing
- We do not listen to, analyze the content of, or retain your audio
Anonymous Telemetry
We collect anonymous usage telemetry to improve our tools:
- Tool usage: which tools are used, processing duration, error rates
- Device context: browser type, operating system, mobile/desktop (no fingerprinting)
- Feedback: thumbs up/down ratings and optional messages you choose to submit
Telemetry is linked to a one-way hash of your IP address — we cannot reverse this to identify you. No names, email addresses, or personal data are collected through telemetry.

We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Accounts and Payments
If you create an account (optional), we store your email address and display name from your authentication provider (Google, Discord, or magic link). Payments are processed by Gumroad, who acts as the Merchant of Record. We do not process or store payment card details. See Gumroad's privacy policy.
How We Use Your Data
- To provide and improve our music tools
- To detect and fix errors
- To prevent abuse (Cloudflare Turnstile bot protection)
- To process payments (via Gumroad)
We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Retention
- Audio files (Cloud Assist): deleted immediately after processing
- Telemetry: retained for up to 90 days, then deleted
- Account data: retained while your account is active; deleted on request

- Access the data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict processing
- Data portability
- Withdraw consent at any time

TuneLab is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
