The TuneLab Clinic — Fix Any Audio Problem
Identify what's wrong with your audio and pick the right tool to fix it.
Types of Audio Damage
Background Noise
Hiss, hum, fan noise, street sounds. Constant background interference from recording environments.
Remove Noise →Echo & Reverb
Room reflections, bathroom reverb, stairwell echo. Makes voices sound distant and unprofessional.
Remove Echo →Muffled / Low Quality
Missing high frequencies, flat dynamics, lack of clarity. Common in phone recordings and compressed files.
Enhance Audio →AI Artifacts
Metallic warble, phase errors, ghostly bleed from AI music generators and stem separators.
Fix AI Artifacts →Clipping & Distortion
Crunchy peaks from recording too hot or aggressive compression on social media platforms.
Repair Clipping →When to Use Each Tool
| Problem | Tool | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Background noise (hiss, hum, fan) | Remove Background Noise | Spectral gate targets constant noise |
| Echo and room reverb | Remove Echo | AI dereverb removes room reflections and tail decay |
| Muffled, flat, or damaged audio | Audio Enhancer | Restores clarity, dynamics, and high frequencies |
| AI-generated music artifacts | Fix AI Audio | Removes metallic warble, phase errors, and hallucination bleed |
| Audio ready for streaming | Auto-Master | Loudness, EQ, compression for streaming platforms |
| Vocals mixed with instruments | Vocal Remover | AI stem separation |
Frequently Asked Questions
What audio problems can TuneLab Clinic fix?
Five categories: background noise (hiss, hum, fan sounds) via spectral gating, echo and room reverb via AI dereverb, muffled or low-quality audio via frequency restoration, AI-generated artifacts (metallic warble, phase errors) via specialized ML models, and clipping or distortion from recording too hot.
Which tool should I use for my problem?
Background noise (constant hiss or hum) — Remove Background Noise. Room echo or reverb — Remove Echo. Muffled sound or missing clarity — Audio Enhancer. Artifacts from Suno, Udio, or stem separators — Fix AI Audio. Audio needs loudness and EQ for streaming — Auto-Master. Vocals mixed with instruments — Vocal Remover.
Can I fix clipping and distortion?
The Audio Enhancer can improve dynamics and restore some clarity lost to compression, but hard clipping that has permanently flattened waveform peaks cannot be fully reversed — the original sample values are lost. Prevention (recording at lower levels) is always better than repair.
What causes metallic artifacts in AI-generated music?
Poor phase estimation in the Griffin-Lim algorithm creates underwater swirling sounds. Many AI generators also have a hard frequency cutoff at 16kHz, removing the natural air and presence. Stem separators can cause hallucination bleed, where vocal sibilance appears as ghostly artifacts in drum tracks.
Is my audio uploaded to a server?
No. All repair tools process audio directly on your device. Your files never leave your machine. On mobile devices without sufficient processing power, Cloud Assist handles processing securely — files are deleted immediately after completion.
Can I chain multiple repairs?
Yes. Start with the most severe problem first — typically noise removal, then echo removal, then enhancement. Each tool saves its output locally, so you can load the repaired file into the next tool without re-uploading.
