Lovefoxy
Mixmag Lab London | A|X Armani Exchange
Lovefoxy in the Mixmag Lab London; we're all pretending we knew this alias before today, but the music—a sleek blend of progressive and tech-house—speaks for itself, loudly and persuasively. The A|X Armani Exchange backdrop suggests a certain polished aesthetic, matched by the set's driving, atmospheric energy. With an average BPM of 132.4 and a fascinatingly even split between the 7A and 12A keys, this set creates tension and release through harmonic contrast. The energy is beautifully balanced between lows (0.48) and mids (0.44), allowing for both physical groove and melodic depth, with highs (0.09) used for impactful accents.
The mixing is progressive in the truest sense, building layers and narrative over extended blends. The original 'Sluthouse' announces the artist's confident sound. PAX & Rui Da Silva's 'Touch Me' is a timeless progressive house anthem given a fresh workout. Eelke Kleijn's 'Transmission' remix by Joris Voorn is a modern classic of melodic techno.
Brokenears' 'Body Monster' brings a raw, percussive edge. Andy Compton's 'That Acid Track' is a deep house purist's delight, and Folamour's 'Ça Va Aller' injects a dose of sunny disco warmth. The peak might be the trance-tinged nostalgia of Rank 1's 'Airwave'. Opening with the driving 'Sluthouse', journeying through the epic build of 'Touch Me', and closing with the mechanical funk of Distant Sun's 'Machine lernt', this is a set with both brains and a formidable body-moving instinct.
