Boris Brejcha WE2
Tomorrowland 2024
The hunt for Boris Brejcha's Tomorrowland 2024 WE2 tracklist is for those of us who appreciate when a DJ uses the main stage not for pyrotechnics, but for a deeply hypnotic, heads-down journey. In contrast to the surrounding chaos, his corner of the festival becomes a temple of intricate sound design and rolling grooves. This is minimal techno at its most sophisticated, cruising at a steady 127.6 BPM and deeply rooted in the moody, minor-key world of 6B. The energy profile is tellingly low-end dominant (0.59), creating a pulsating, physical bedrock over which delicate melodic fragments and precise percussion can dance.
The mixing is seamless and patient, favoring long blends that allow each track's unique texture to fully unfold. The crate-digging here is exceptional. The atmospheric 'Intro' by The Tiki sets a mysterious scene, while Yudzhin Tech's 'Daring Horse' is a masterclass in driving, percussive minimalism. Boris's own 'Python' is a certified weapon, a track built on a sinister, squelching bassline that owns any room it enters.
Soul Bros' 'Paper bag' offers a raw, jacking house interlude, and Josh Butler's 'Got a Feeling (Bontan Remix)' provides a soulful, vocal-led moment of warmth amidst the machinery. The journey is a continuous, evolving loop: it begins with the ambient intrigue of The Tiki, reaches a melodic peak with the soaring synths of 'You Take Me Higher', and dissolves gracefully into the ambient dub of Redeyes' 'Long Ago'.
