Boiler Room CDMX: horsegiirL
horsegiirL’s Boiler Room CDMX set is the glorious, chaotic internet made sound—a hyperactive splice of hyperpop, trance, and hard dance that makes perfect sense at 6am when reality has fully dissolved. The Mexico City crowd is a riot of color and motion, fully buying into the cartoonish euphoria. This is high-BPM, high-concept electronic music, averaging a frantic 150.4 BPM and frequently locked into the euphoric 12A key. The energy is split between a pounding low-end (50%) and busy mid-range (42%), creating a dense, overwhelming wall of sound that’s somehow incredibly fun.
horsegiirL’s mixing is a blitz of quick cuts and meme-ready drops. The tracklist is a manifesto. Opening with 'FREE JIMI - Kismet' sets a mystical, video-game-score tone. 'CRRDR - Riddim' is a brutalist, digital dancehall moment.
'Only Fire - Puta' is pure, unadulterated chaotic energy. Her own 'horsegiirL - giirL math (VIP Remix)' is the self-referential peak, a glitchy anthem for the online generation. Throwing in a 'Meditation Chakra Music' track is the kind of joke we appreciate. The journey is a sprint: from the opening arpeggios of 'Kismet', through the dizzying peak of 'giirL math', to the abrasive, satisfying halt of the closing 'DM TRAXX - PLG'.
