Nina Kraviz
at our virtual Gashouder for Awakenings Festival 2020 | Online weekender
God bless the online weekender, where the front row consists entirely of houseplants and people watching in their pants. It completely ruined the Berghain queue cosplay, forcing the techno tourists to try and have a profound spiritual awakening while their cat judged them from the sofa. But visually, the massive, empty industrial shell of the virtual Gashouder provides a beautifully haunting and cinematic backdrop. This Nina Kraviz live set is an absolute Techno fever dream, rocketing up to a frantic 145.4 BPM average.
Kraviz's mixing style is famously raw and instinctual; she completely disregards smooth blends, violently slamming between 7A and 12A to keep the energy jagged, unpredictable, and dangerously high. The Nina Kraviz at our virtual Gashouder for Awakenings Festival 2020 tracklist is a crate digger's wet dream of obscure wax and absolute madness. Who else has the brass neck to play Bellini's 'Samba de Janeiro' into Gigi D'Agostino's 'Bla Bla Bla' in the middle of an Awakenings stream? It's a proper laugh. The arc is entirely unhinged in the best way possible.
She kicks the door in with 'TRIX - Life's Little Pleasures (CONTINUAL TRIX MIX)' as the opening track, absolutely batters the virtual crowd with Blawan's 'Rain,' and finally signs off the madness with 'Volksmusik - Secret Girl (Paul Nazca Remix)' as the closing track. Sorted and utterly mad.
