Keep Hush TurboFest
It is always funny watching the 'I only listen to 140' crowd suddenly find themselves aggressively skanking to trance edits in a sweaty basement. The underground purism goes out the window when the bassline hits. High-speed, genre-clashing energy is absolutely rampant at Keep Hush TurboFest. Checking the Bakey Keep Hush TurboFest tracklist, it is a frantic blend of Techno, UKG, and DnB. Pushing an average of 146.8 BPM, the tempo wildly swings between 133 and 167 BPM.
Rooted heavily in the 12A key, the set delivers a punishing, low-end dominant masterclass. This Bakey live set is full of cheeky edits and lethal dubplates. Dropping Sammy Virji and Flowdan's 'Shella Verse' is a guaranteed reload, but sneaking in ATB's '9 P.M. (Till I Come)' is a stroke of unhinged genius. The energy in the room is borderline dangerous.
Following an unknown opening track, the chaotic breaks take complete control. The crowd absolutely loses their minds when Steve Gurley's 'Walk On By' delivers that classic, untouchable groove. To finish them off, the closing track is the Breakage remix of 'Too Shy' by Shy FX, leaving the TurboFest survivors completely ruined.
