Awakenings Festival 2018 Saturday - Live set Bart Skils & 2000 and One
Area V
Look at this sea of Dutch giants in black tees, jaws swinging like saloon doors in a hurricane. Welcome to Awakenings, where half the crowd is cosplaying as Berghain bouncers and the rest are techno tourists dodging a bloke named Lars. They want a spiritual experience but only found the token queue. The Bart Skils & 2000 and One Area V tracklist is proper sorted, though. The vibe inside the colossal Area V tent is mad, drenched in strobes and chest-rattling energy.
For the heads, this Bart Skils & 2000 and One live set holds a tight BPM range of 125-128. Anchored heavily in 12A and 5A keys, it's a driving, linear Techno progression that rarely lets you breathe. The mixing style is sharp and utilitarian, pure tension. The crate digger gems here are elite, proving they aren't having a laugh. They drop the absolute classic Paperclip People - Throw (Slam's RTM Remix) to massive roars, and even sneak in Wuki - Edge of Seventeen for those paying attention.
The sonic journey is a proper masterclass in festival pacing. Setting the tone with the opening track Biscits - Wait A Minute, they relentlessly build the room until the massive peak of Adam Beyer & Bart Skils - Your Mind. Finally, they cool the engines with the closing track Ilija Djokovic - Pandora, leaving the crowd absolutely battered.
